Modern Angst
Modern Angst first hit the stage in 2021. The initial songs were written by Jared White out of a visceral need to express resentment, fear and the inward daily struggles of everyday life in modern America. This was only compounded by the COVID pandemic that highlighted America's social unrest, financial disparity and a government focused on partisan fever vs. making life equally better for all. Music had saved his life in the past and more than ever he needed this outlet to heal and express his natural angst. The guys in Modern Angst come from very different musical backgrounds. Jared had experience from touring with his former punk band for a decade and influences range from The Clash, Bad Religion, The Descendents and AFI. David comes from a background of hardcore and reggae having played in St. Louis bands for 20 years. Nick has a background in both punk and jam bands, playing with various acts in the region. Brandon is heavily influenced by both metal and punk. Each member brings their individual take on the songs themselves which fills out a unique blend of punk, hardcore and ska. They released their debut EP "Trampled" in January 2022 and immediately followed that with recording their upcoming full-length.
