steelboy

Formed in 2023, steelboy is a four piece melodic skate punk band from Richmond, Virginia, featuring Yani on vocals, DURG on guitar and backup vocals, RyNo on bass and backup vocals, and Sage on drums and backup vocals. The band describes themselves simply as four frenemies playing punk rock to stay sane, which is about as accurate as it gets.

Blending any and all ideas and inspirations, steelboy writes fast, catchy, uninhibited songs built for loud rooms, bad decisions, and anyone trying to keep their head above water. Their sound is raw but intentional, melodic but aggressive, and full of the uniquely restless energy that makes punk rock feel alive.

After releasing their 6 song EP …or whatever through Punkerton Records, steelboy has returned with their debut full length album, Thanks For The Invite…. The album captures the band at their most dynamic, racing through 12 tracks of sharp riffs, crushing drums, soaring hooks, ska punk detours, and enough momentum to keep the whole thing from ever standing still.

From the Ramones inspired charge of “Tres Machos,” to the explosive urgency of “Now or Never,” the emotional punch of “Chernobyl,” and the ska fueled fight song “Hell No,” Thanks For The Invite… shows steelboy refining their chaos into something bigger, louder, and harder to ignore.
